I have started adding warning to the facebook posts to make sure there is tissues close by. My heart breaks for you and your family with all you went through. I am so glad that in a lot of ways things turned out well but I am so sorry for everything your guys have gone through.

oh my! tough question! hmmmm, i would say he is usually #2, right after the boys, but we do take a night to ourselves at least twice a month if not once a week; and while we eat as a family the rest of the week, on Saturdays we have a late dinner just the two of us after the kids are asleep....so I feel we make each other and our marriage a priority too :-)

Kelly you must have heard the term Bless and Release. Well I like to use the term Catch and Release, like the fishermen do. The ones who you catch the attention of may want to stay, others will wiggle and squirm to get away, others will be half in your bucket and half out, never being able to make up their minds. Catching and Releasing is all about what is good for them and not for you. You take yourself out of the equation. Some people want what we have to offer, others are just not sure, and other's just know it's not for them. But the fisherman doesn't ever give up because his passion for fishing is immense, so he keeps casting out, over and over, waiting to see which fish will be interested enough in the offer. The minute you start to concentrate on the fish, how many you can catch, and not on the fishing which is where the real joy is, it loses it's appeal, and that is when the stress sets in. Catch and Release..how I see it and be it. LOl :)

Thought this would be a good 'starter' comment for me, cause I'm just new here

I secretly find going to work a 'break' from the kids. Ok, not always, but often getting out the door when 3 screaming girls are freaking out yelling 'MOMMY", just feels good
I'm really getting sick of those really happy cheerful bubbly cashiers that have a huge smile on their face as they greet me going through the grocery line. Then they have the gaul to address me as "Hun", "dear", or some other stupid endearment term. Am I alone on this?
Sometimes the 10 second rule in my house gets extended to 'if there is no cat hair on it, and you blow it off really good...then its fair game'. eeek, can't believe I just admited that

Offering to do 'Guest' posts is another method of getting your links out there. I think people are able to make extra money with writing on several platforms along with linking to their blog. Helps to capture a 'audience'. I still haven't figured out the SEO totally either :P been writing what I know but promoting is fun :) well, for me.

I was convinced I was only going to have one too. Until my uterus cried out every time I saw a baby! 6 years later and it was time for another! :D But, I think we will have one more and we are done. It's definitely a juggling act but us moms can do it!

Thanks Nancy! We are finished at one but I can imagine how it must be with two or more. It's one of our reasons for stopping at one. There are a few more reasons too but I know that I can be a good mom to my one, add more to the mix and I'm just not sure. I admire single parents and parent's of multiple children! ;)

Great post Kelly, I am obviously NOT a single parent.. BUT, I think once you have another baby you will find yourself in a similar situation. My husband is SUPER supportive. He takes on parenting 50/50. He cooks, he cleans, does laundry... He knows how hard it is to watch two kids and definitely helps me out when he's not working. In fact, I owe him tons. As soon as I had my second, I was shocked to see how thin I spread myself some days. Not just physically but emotionally. Perhaps, it's just me.

But, I guess that's parenting for you.

We adjust.

Though, I can't picture doing it ALL alone. I have great admiration for those who do though, truly amazing.

Hi Kelly,

I give a pampered chef gift to all the teachers every year because I know it is something they will use in the kitchen. Sometimes I get a product that can be split into a few gifts so I can spread out the gifts to the teachers and it is not so hard on the budget. I have some really great ideas and my kids help me with it as well. I try to pick something that will be useful as well and I have teachers from years ago who tell me they still have the spreader we got them, or the little citrus peeler. I try to get them something I know will be used over and over.

But...

There were years when I wasn't doing pampered chef like for my oldest we thought of different things to do that involved the kids.

We've done many things over the years, lots of handmade things. One year we picked rocks from the garden and painted them with teacher quotes, personalized them and gave them to the teachers as paperweights.

Another year we made a quote jar, my kids decorated the jars and we wrote quotes so each school day the teacher could pick a paper out of her jar every day to read. Either way you do it, it can be done for everyone's budget. It doesn't have to be extravagant, just put some thought into it and get the kids involved.

The tax stuff will vary with every province and if you are setup as a business or a sole proprietor. Check with a financial advisor on the tax stuff. I know myself I do not have to pay taxes on earnings if they are under 35k in Canada, but all my income is American, so I don't pay canadian taxes on it and the us doesn't tax me because I am not a US citizen...

Oh Kelly, you are one of the AWESOME things about CMO. I love the sense of community and it's a place where you can just be YOURSELF. Most importantly, I love meeting so many new ladies and having so many laughs. It's a great support system and my Hubby asks me what's so funny ALL the time. Kelly – you’ve done an amazing job on this subject. While I’ve never been a stay at home mom, I am a work at home mom with two businesses. What I wanted to add is that the judgement doesn’t just come for moms of young children in their formative years – it can happen at any time. My main business was in a downtown location for several years but the moment one of my teenaged kids was flirting with disaster in her peer group of choice, I moved my business into my home (thankfully I could) to be there through the Summer and be able to watch over her a little closer. Did this impact my business? It did a bit but the point is that it was MY choice to make as I saw fit. I don’t regret making that choice, I’m just thankful that I could.

I realized that I didn't post an update after receiving my product (which arrived extremely quickly by the way). I ordered the Brown Sugar Scrub and can't even begin to explain how awesome it is. My entire body feels so soft after getting out of the shower when using it. I purchased the citrus scent and it's wonderful!!

I can relate to this post too well, Kelly. My Grandma eventually had to be placed in a home. She would take walks and get lost, forget the stove was on, etc. Eventually she began to call me "Flo", which is my mother's name. She thought I was my Mom as a child still and I was the only one she would take her meds for, go to the doctor with and so on.

Reading your post brings back so much of that time. I am thankful I had the chance to know my grandma before the disease and for the memories I still treasure to this day.

I will be donating for sure once I put some money on my card.

1. I love travelling and sight seeing and would love to see the Maritimes and BC. The only thing about flying is that my ears hurt so immensely when landing that driving seems more appealing.

2. I love eating dill pickles, ice cream, and corn on the cob. I try not to buy pickles and icecream too often because they disappear tooo fast. There I confessed my addictions.

3. I love blogging and reading other blogs but there never seems enough time to do everything else. Have the same problem? (started my blog Aug. 2010)
